MD5 offer an expert Cell Site Analysis service to all customers. We are able to examine and interpret call data records to provide a desktop review to analyse and map the historical movement of the phone in questions, focusing in on places and times of interest.
In addition we are able to provide on-site cell site analysis network readings and radio surveys to determine if a particular mobile phone mast could have provided service on a particular occasion. This involves conducting tests using CSurv cell survey tool around the area surveying coverage from numerous masts on a range of mobile networks.
MD5 can then present the data on a map, helping form a potentially significant part of an investigation demonstrating that the mobile phone had been at a particular location at a particular time.
What is Cell Site Analysis?
Cell Site Analysis is the science of being able to locate the geographical area of a mobile phone at a particular time, with the purpose of identifying if a suspect was in the vicinity of a scene of crime, or not. Using data provided by the mobile network operators, network surveys and the combined skills of the forensic investigator, we are able to determine geographical location and/or movement of mobile phones.
