It was good to see that the due diligence of our Actions, Policies and Procedures operated by MD5 ultimately led to the conviction of a former employee Iain Nash, for possessing, making, taking, and distributing indecent images of children.

I want to state that Iain Nash’s role while employed at MD5 was purely as a Business Development Manager (Salesman), not as described in a news article as a “cyber forensics expert”. He had no access to client or customers evidential material; he was employed purely to promote our services and software. Iain Nash had joined our team from within the industry, the issues with the drive were identified as he left to pursue employment with another company within the industry.

I want to congratulate Cheshire Police for carrying out a thorough investigation, that MD5 assisted with throughout via statements and the initial actions that led to this individual’s successful conviction.
